NFPA 110 & life safety
Connect generator fuel testing with the NFPA 110 / 99 / 101 life-safety bridge.
Explore this referenceFuel testing measures condition at a point in time. Continuity preserves what happens before, during, and after that test—from the first identified asset to the next event.
A shared blueprint for engineers, healthcare facilities, emergency-power teams, data centers, utilities, fuel professionals, and service providers.
The national objective
An asset may be engineered, commissioned, fueled, sampled, tested, maintained, corrected, and tested again by different people using different systems. FOI's workflow keeps the fuel-condition event connected across those handoffs. Your engineering, inspection, maintenance and asset systems retain their authority; FOI preserves its testing evidence and continuity record.
The shared blueprint
One sequence applies across industries. The responsible party and applicable standard may change; the core evidence and handoff discipline does not.
Not every event requires corrective work. Each event must clearly record what was reviewed, whether correction was needed, and what was verified. Learning the workflow does not establish a completed fuel-testing event.
A common system, different responsibilities
This is a national professional campaign, not six separate workflows. Begin with the responsibility you already own.
Connect fuel sampling, laboratory performance, review, and the next testing event.
Explore generator fuel testing →Carry equipment and fuel identity from commissioning into operations without replacing existing systems.
Explore workflow education →Support applicable NFPA 110, 99, and 101 responsibilities with identifiable fuel events and preserved records.
See participation options →Connect deliveries, tanks, samples, lab evidence and trends across multiple assets and facilities.
See continuity services →Use repeatable field screening, sample identification and laboratory follow-through.
Explore field products →Teach and carry the workflow alongside existing CMMS/EAM records and professional education.
Explore the education pathway →Education and adoption
The campaign page explains the blueprint; the course teaches professionals how to establish asset and sample identity, follow the custody sequence, interpret the handoffs, and use continuity in actual work.
Online ten-step workflow education and an acknowledgement of course completion. Open to engineers, students, facilities, technicians, service providers and other mission-critical professionals.
Request course accessThe same education with an optional twelve-month commitment, structured applied learning, signed performance documentation, and state-specific records.
Proposed pathway: 8 PDHs for qualifying initial instruction and assessment, plus 8 for qualifying annual learning activities, subject to documented hours, provider requirements, and state board acceptance.

The national campaign introduces the shared workflow. These are the practical FOI destinations for testing, products, training and operational continuity.
Collect and submit an identified fuel sample for laboratory testing.
Explore sample kit →Choose appropriate methods and obtain laboratory evidence, review and results.
Explore testing →Screen common fuel-quality concerns at the point of work and follow up when laboratory confirmation is needed.
Explore field kits →Learn adoption and practical use of the ten-step continuity sequence.
View education options →Existing FOI field-test education, location setup and LIMS result submission process.
Explore field certification →Review site history, laboratory results and trending within FOI's supported operations.

FOI is not asking your organization to replace its engineers, maintenance practices, CMMS, inspections or established decision authority. We are offering a shared fuel-quality continuity workflow and the services that make it practical.
FOI is an independent laboratory. This campaign does not imply endorsement or accreditation by NFPA, ASHE, licensing boards, or other third parties. Requirements depend on the applicable code edition, jurisdiction, and facility program.
